Build-A-Bear

During the first week in May, Rory convinced me that we needed to take Rowan to Build-A-Bear Workshop. So, we went, and of course Rowan thought the shop was cool. We picked out his bear, a nice velvety one with a big nose. Then we listened to the sounds and he really like the "Magic". He stood and watched as they stuffed him. We helped him pick a heart from one of the bins at the stuffing stations and showed him that he needed to kiss it by doing so ourselves. He grinned, probably thinking Mom and Dad were being pretty silly. We let him explore a little more around the shop while we were waiting for his bear to get stitched up. He wanted to pull down all the stuffed dogs they had on display, so I was going around right behind him putting things back. After a few minutes he decided he was ready to get on the computer, so we named his bear and printed out the certificate. Finally, it was time to get his new friend dressed. Of course, by this time, he just wants to wander around the store on his own and "pre-kiss" all the hearts in the bins. So Rory picks out the clothes, and gives the bear a "bath" (it's just air to fluff it up a little), and gets him dressed.

Rory doesn't seem to mind that he's doing all this by himself while Rowan is running amok.

At last, Daddy, Ro and "Bear-iff Woody" were ready to go home. I think Rowan enjoyed himself (and Rory, too).
